The Power of Saving with Class Act FCU

We at Class Act Federal Credit Union are committed, not just to the education community but also to the education of the community. We strive to bridge the gap in financial literacy and access to affordable financial products/services and it starts with our children in school.

By partnering with JCPS Academies we established full service branches in High Schools where our students are financially educated and acquire career experience at a financial institution. Whether you choose to be part of the academy or simply be a member, we welcome you to Class Act Federal Credit Union.

FAQ's

Q: Why should I open an account with Class Act?

A: Class Act has no monthly fees, no minimum balance requirement, and is federally insured by the NCUA. And since there is a branch in your school, it is also the closest!

Q: Do you have an app?

A: Yes! And it’s highly rated on both the App Store and Google Play. Monitor your accounts, set alerts, transfer funds, and more. We even have a Spending Report Card to help with your financial goals!

Q: How do I start building credit? Can Class Act Help?

A: Once you turn 18, the credit journey begins! The best way to start is by applying for our credit builder loans to establish credit age and payment history. You also have access to our Credit Report Card where you can monitor your credit score, download your credit report, and read educational materials for free. Not yet 18? It’s never too early to develop great financial habits by maintaining your account.

Q: How old do I have to be to open an account?

A: Your parent/guardian can open a savings account under your name at any age. You qualify for a checking account and debit card at 16 if a parent or guardian is joint on the account. By 18 you can open an account that is all yours.

At 18 Years Old Credit Builder Loans

"So I need to borrow to establish credit, but I can’t borrow because I have no credit?” We understand the frustration! These low risk loans and payments are reported to all 3 Credit Bureaus to kickstart your credit building journey. Learn more about your credit score with “Credit Report Card” on our App.

Credit Achiever Loan

We’ll hold the amount you borrow while you make payments. These funds won’t be available to you until you pay off the loan in full. By then, you’ll have a reserve of funds that can act either as an emergency fund or go towards another savings goal.

Secured Visa Credit Card

This requires a cash security deposit that will act as your credit limit (minimum of $500). After a minimum of 6 months of usage and on time payments, you can ask to be upgraded for a regular credit card. If approved, you get your security deposit back! Also a great way to develop healthy financial habits.

Share Secured Loan

Like the Secured Visa Platinum Credit Card, this loan is backed by a deposit that the member supplies.
